Through your donations, we were able to furnish Shahrul with a sewing machine.

Your donations have now empowered him to earn RM1000/month. Shahrul intends to continue sewing as his main source of income for his family. The sewing machine will help him increase his income in the upcoming Raya season.Ā

Ā

Shahrul Nizam Bin Mohd Hanafiah is a 46 year old paralyzed man. He was 4 years old when calamity struck and he fell of a tree while playing which paralyzed him. Because of this tragedy, he could never get married and start his own family.Ā

– The paralysis effected both his legs severely.
– Today, he stays with his mother who is 70 years of age. He has 3 other siblings who have families to support from their own poor means, yet try to help Shahrul as and when they can.
– As a disabled worker, her receives RM400.00 as an incentive allowance per month from the welfare department.
– Shahrul is trying to make a living by starting a tailoring business. His strong intention and dream to become self sufficient have pushed him to work hard in his new tailoring business.
– Shahrul manages to earn about RM900.00 per month after a hard moths labour.

Alhamdulilah, so far Shahrul has been managing the whole place, tailoring traditional clothes by himself without an assistant.

Shahrul wants to expand his business so that he can cater to a wider range of clients who have different demands of style. By this, he can ensure that his business can sustain outside the Raya season as well.

Ā

Ā

Because a lack of funds and personnel, Shahrul is trying to get a second-hand motorcycle so that he can deliver the orders to the customers themselves. Meeting personally with his clients can help establish a good rapport with them.

Seeing his mother’s age factor, Shahrul wants to have his own sustainable income so that he can remove the burden of his expenses from his siblings and for a change make a contribution to help his mother and household as well.

Shahrul is trying his best to do more to meet the customer demands and make sure they come back for more business. Unfortunately, he is restricted by his minimal equipment which hinders his stitching capacity to tailor more.

Shahrul is a man with a strong sense of determination who doesnā€™t want to bow down in the face of difficulties. Despite facing so many hardships, he continues to run his tailoring business and keep his head raised high.

Ā

Shahrul needs funds to buy a new sewing machine so that he can cater to the needs and demands of different types of tailoring from his customers. The cost of a new sewing machine is about RM5000.00 (USD1200)

The donations to this campaign will also help Shahrul fix and make some modifications to the existing equipment.

To ensure long term progress, Shahrul, under the guidance of YKN will also undergo special training where he will be taught new sewing methods, techniques and styles which will take into account his disabilities and teach him to enhance his skills even further. This is a long term sustainability plan placed in place by our charity partners YKN to ensure that the potential from all your donations are maximized and empower Shahrul.

Ā

The Messenger of Allah ļ·ŗ said: It is better for one among you to bring a load of firewood on his back and give charity out of it (and satisfy his own need) and be independent of people, than that he should beg from people, whether they give him anything or refuse him. Verily the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin (charity) with your dependents. [Muslim]

Shahrul is a living example of the hadith of the Prophet ļ·ŗ regarding those who try to work to earn a Halal and respectable income instead of begging others. At GlobalSadaqah our mission is to empower such people so that they go from becoming beneficiaries to benefactors themselves. This is the core of our mission to Circulate Good.

Even the smallest of donations count. The donations from this campaign not only help Shahrul set up a decent business but will also help stabilize a family going through a very tough timeĀ  Donā€™t let the numbers stop you for Allah loves all those who give and help remove a difficulty of a fellow Muslim.
