About Wan Fadhilah
Wan Fadilah Binti Ismail is a 41 year old single mother of five, who lives in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
– Her eldest daughter (21 years old) was diagnosed with spinal cord problems (chronic) since she was four months old.
– Her husband passed away in an accident in 2015.
– Wan receives RM 250.00 as an incentive allowance per month from Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat and earns around RM 1000.00 per month based on the number of customers.
– Wan is a heart patient who needs constant treatment, but she puts her health aside to help provide for her children.
Since the passing of her husband in 2015, Wan Fadilah had to try to earn a living by selling traditional Malay kuih to support her family. Despite working day and night to sell as many as possible, she was still short of money to meet her basic needs. She also works part-time as a home cleaner in the Pasir Gudang.
A major source of worry and concern for Wan Fadhilah is her eldest daughter, who has been diagnosed with a chronic spinal cord problem limiting her to the bed and demanding constant attention from her mother for the past 21 years. With this constant worry plaguing Wan, she goes about working two jobs to help provide for her family.
Her daughter with the spinal cord condition needs vitamins and supplements often to maintain her health. Unfortunately the cost of purchasing the vitamins and supplements is around RM 1,600.00 per month which is more than what Wan earns. Wan Fadilah saves to buy these necessary vitamins for a month and then foregoes the next few months due to lack of finances.
Her monthly expenses for her other childrens basic needs and education costs around RM 2,500.00 per month at a bare minimum. This cost is again more than what she manages to earn despite working two jobs. She is helped out of goodwill with necessities like oil etc from her neighbours and the school at times makes allowances for the children after seeing their condition.
Wan Fadilah is also a heart patient who needs treatment and medication. Despite such an ailment, Wan has put her health in the backseat and spends most or nearly all that she earns in trying to meet the utmost basic necessities to support her young children pay off the bills and loans.
Due to such a tight financial strain and a mountain of responsibility on her shoulder, Wan is determined to become an independent business lady who doesn’t have to depend on the scrapes of others. To empower herself, she plans on starting and running her own small scale food based business from her house in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
Through your donations to this campaign, Wan will have the opportunity to expand her food business further. It will help her to buy the Kuih Kapit’s oven, banana scrapper machine, better tools, more raw material and equipment to increase her daily output and satisfy her customer demand so that they return to her for more business.
The donations to this campaign will be used to cover the business expenses instead of taking from her daily income. The donations will provide her the cushion to use her income to take care of the daily expenses of her children instead.
To make sure that your donations reach their maximum potential, Wan will undergo a special training course that will help teach and enhance his skills in running a business.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
It is better for one among you to bring a load of firewood on his back and give charity out of it (and satisfy his own need) and be independent of people, than that he should beg from people, whether they give him anything or refuse him.
Verily the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin (charity) with your dependents.
Wan Fadilah hopes that after all the struggle she has to go through daily, she can provide for her children a chance at education without having to worry about poverty and daily expenses.
She hopes that when her children have completed their studies, they will become the pillars to support the family. As a mother, she is trying her best to support and meet all the necessary costs so that her children can focus on their studies properly. Such dedication is highly commendable and should be supported by us.
Wan is a living example of the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ regarding those who try to work to earn a Halal and respectable income instead of begging others. At GlobalSadaqah our mission is to empower such people so that they go from becoming beneficiaries to benefactors themselves. This is the core of our mission to Circulate Good.
Even the smallest of donations count. Allah loves all those who give and help remove a difficulty of a fellow Muslim. The donations from this campaign not only help Wan set up a decent business but will also help stabilize a family without a father to guide and support them.
