Hashim runs a small food stall where he sells Malaysian favourite, Roti Canai in Perak. He is assisted by his wife, who helps in cooking, preparing and packaging the food.
Hashim earns about RM500-800 only in a month. Most of this income is also spent in trying to meet the utmost basic necessities to support his family. Hardly anything is left to add back into the business or medical needs. Satisfying one need means depriving another.Ā
Hashim’s stall is in a good location to get customers for lunch. Due to lack of funds and their minimal equipment he is not able to meet the customer demand.Ā Hashim and his wife want to be able to make more Roti Canai so that they can sell larger quantities and meet the demands of their customers.
Hashim is trying his best to do more to get more customers and make sure the existing customers come back for more business. Doing this will allow him to be financially independent and not rely on others for constant help because of his medical condition.
Hashim hopes that after all the struggle he has to go through daily with his medical condition, he can provide his children a chance at education without having to worry about poverty and daily expenses. He hopes that when his children have completed their studies, they will become the pillars to support the family. As a father, he is trying his best to support and meet all the necessary costs so that his children can focus on their studies.
An inspiring man whose hard-work, honest, and zeal to work should be supported by all of us.Ā
