Mohd Safy is a young orphan currently enrolled in Emaan International School in Cambodia. His father passed away in 2012 when he was just 4 years old.
The sudden death of his father brought the responsibility of the entire house on the shoulders of Safy’s mother. She was now forced to look for work so that she could feed and support Safy and her own mother (Safy’s grandmother).
After a long period of search, Safy’s mother found employment in a factory near the border of Thailand. But this employment also came at a heavy price. Based on her work requirements, Safy’s mother can afford to return home once only every few months.
Safy’s grandmother, who herself is quite aged and in bad health takes care of her grandson alone. Looking at the family condition, Safy requires the intervention of EIS and the EIS boarding programme.
Mohd Safy and his mother look forward to the day when they can live together in the same house again. In the meantime, Mohd Safy is determined to work hard and study so that his mother will be happy.
Emaan Internatonal School is a Muslim-managed international school for Cambodian students of all ethnicity and religions. EIS is located in a village in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia which is about 50km away from the main city. Education is a key factor to uplift and empower people. This is the reason the school aims to provide affordable, good quality and sustainable international education in a village in Cambodia.
To the villagers, EIS represents a way out of the cycle of poverty for their children. It is more than just a door to an international education. EIS will teach its students English, Mathematics and Science according to the Cambridge International Primary Progamme.
The orphans and students selected to receive sponsorship have undergone detailed background checks and interviews with the respective parent or guardian and village chief.
Emaan Catalyst Community (Singapore) established Emaan Foundation Cambodia in 2015, both playing strategic and direct roles in supporting EIS.
Funds will be used to cover the fees for his Education at Emaan International School. The funds will also provide him the required basic amenities. Your donations to this campaign today might change the future of Safy and his family. What a worthy investment that is!
